the feeling is different

well, was in town on thursday for dinner with bf..i kind of insisted on gg there cos I M SO DEPRIVE OF SHOPPING!!!

yap, i had my "shopping", but it was "diamond shopping"...

well, SK is having a sale, and i went to to see earrings..ended up, bf was saying the solitaire was cheap..and he asked me to try this, try that..dot dot dot...i was like, hello^^^^^^ i want to see earrings and chunky stainless steel bracklet....

next stop was citigems..(i was with the same intention, i want to get a pair of earrings)..tried on a few, 0.4carat, 0.5carat..and ended up,i fell in love with a 0.7carat solitaire..he keep asking me, i want a solitaire or i want the other one in the shape of a flower (which adds up to 0.78carat)..i was like..huh? both!! HAHA...bf commented that which setting looks nicer on my finger, which is not nice on me...

and in the end...we went in to Lee Hwa (my fav, Destinee!!!!)...totally love Destinee!!!!!!!! and i cant stop myself from trying on a Destinee..haha...

bf asked the sale person to show us something from the GIA cert range, and she took a 0.6carat for me..well...he said the it is nicer than Destinee...helloooooo...of cos nicer lah..its a D color, while the Destinee is a F color...in the end, bf said that the crown setting looks nicest on me

and he asked the sales person for the serial number of the 2 solitaires he thinks its nice..and he even commented on which wedding band goes well with the solitaires..FAINT!!!!

which makes me think back...in the past, i was the one wanting him to get me a solitaire, and everytime, i try pulling him into any jewellery shop, he will be super reluctant, and keep saying that buy for what, and blah blah blah...he will not ask the sales person for any serial numbers or whatsoever...this time, really taken me back by surprise..that he actually take the initiative to ask me try on a solitaire..and ask me questions like, which setting i like the most, what size i want to have, whether a solitaire or not...and to actually so willingly to just go into the jewellery shops...he was never this serious in this...

that makes me really wonder....how now??!!!!

well these days, work is taking the biggest clunck of my time, and i keep getting sick...in fact, i never really did recover..

with buget started, and all the loading into cognos, n HFM, as well as closing...i can really foresee days of staying late in the office again..

some time i wish i m not so busy at work, and can leave the office at 5.30pm sharp..but leaving at 5.30pm sharp is always the wish at the start of the day...towards the end of the day, i will be like saying,max..7pm...but ended up, it is usually after 9pm...hurhurhur...

My first week at Nielsen

My last day at Caterpillar was on 31st March 2009. and I had like 5 days of rest before I start on the new job at Nielsen.

the 3 weekdays after my last days passed super fast. I was out every day from Wednesday to Friday. Having enjoyed a tai tai life for that 3 days!! haha.. high tea, rather, was drinking my coffee bean as usual...

I was in Orchard on Wednesday, buying, spent a BOMB!!! and took a cab back home as I told Dear that I wanted to cook dinner..

Thurs was out with Dar, to Vivo, shopped like no one biz there also..haha

Friday, was in Orchard, again. went to collect all the travel documents, air tickets, travel insurance, hotel confirmation. After that, headed to Raffles Hospital, for my pre-employment check-up. and I waited for like 2.5hrs there.. Did a little shopping at Bugis, nothing to buy. Met up with Thurga, for dinner. Wanted to shopped at Marina area, but we are not in the shopping mood, as nothing seems to captured our eyes. So decided to have dinner and some catching up..haha

Sat night went out with Dear and his friends for drinks..after that was supper and home.

Sunday was slacking at home, watching tv,sleeping, etc...

Monday was my first day at work at Nielsen, and its located inside Revenue House, at Novena. It takes me 1 hr to reach my work place...Dear came and pick me up on my first day...

And almost all of my friends are working in town, and I never went back home straight after work!!! Basically, every day is after work, meeting up with them for lunch, or dinner...A short work week, cos its Good Friday on Friday..

I am into my 2nd week, and every thing is fine. Enjoying every moment of it..The best part is that, I can dress as pretty as I like, without feeling out of place..so every morning its what to wear, which shoes to go with, which bag shall I carry...haha..totally a super vain pot now! (was already a vain pot in Cat, and now, it has become worst!!)...

Is there a class sepcially for people who don't know how to dress both UP and DOWN????!!!!

THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL VIEWS!!!!

I have seen to many to pen down this entry......

But I have to admit that I am quite boring when come to dressing, maybe because 95% of my stuffs are in black, like almost every one who knows me says:" black is my "uniform""..haha

I think some one should really set a school which will teach people (from young to old) with no dress sense how to dress like a human or normal person.

I am not saying about being glamorus or something, at least something that will suit every occissions. And through "trial and error" to find something that will bring out your best features, and not go blindly with what's in and what's hot.

I am some one who will not care what's in fashion, to me, dressing up the way I am comfortable will keep me happy for the whole day. I have no problem with which heels to which outfit, which bag to which, blah, blah, blah, blah, because, all my heels are in black, and my bags / heels are to go with whatever dresses/tops I have at home, and not the other way round. Cos, heels and bags are easier to buy rather than tops and dresses.

If I feel that I am underdress for a shopping trip in town, I will just refuse to go, and if I go, I will most probably show a super black and pissed off face. (Every one can vouch for this)

I am a strong believer of this RULE: If you wear a revealing top, you should wear a longer bottom, and if you are wearing hot pants, you should wear T-shirt, a nice top with sleeves, a tanktop. But, this is purely out to the individual on how "covered" is their "covered".

For the young, its understandable, cos we have been there, and done that, but for people who are 40++, 50++ and still dresses like young gals, short shorts/skirts, spag, off shoulder, tank top, I really think there is a problem, this is regradless of how slim your are. Cos no matter what your face, skin texture has "played" you out. Unless, you are those super rich tai tais, that can go facial, botox, spa, etc, etc, almost every day, to maintain that youthful skin. But then again, did you see any tai tais, dresses this way?? Short, revealing stuffs???? These short, reaveling stuffs, when you wear at 40++, 50+, these are more suitable for those standing in Geylang. Even if you are 20++ towards 30, I still find it not that appropriate to dress revealing tops, n short shorts lor..also like thoes in Geylang..(Pardon me, I know I am bad!!!But a lot there are like this mah.)

Not that I am saying, you can't wear revealing tops or short shorts, but these doesn't really go hand-in-hand. Like what the RULE states (I am sure almost every one knows about this, but there are a lot who dont go with this), "reveal" only the upper half, or the lower. Revaling both can be quite an eyesore.

I am not conversative ok, I have lots of tops that are revealing, but I make it a point to wear with jeans/pants. I don't want to look as if I wanna "sell meat".

I remembered there was once on the train, I saw this ah ma (60+), she was wearing a bright pink long top, the lower part of top is the "pom pom" kind, a hot pink tights, a purple cardi, a red and white poka dots hairband, a hot pink shoulder bag, a pink shopper bag...I nearly "fainted" seeing this.

Also, one gal, having a "currypuff" on her head, and she still wear hairband. Common lah, decide on whether "currypuff" or hairband lah, duhz.

And also, one gal wearing a shawl with a super short dress, that nearly show her butt. (and she is not those slim nor meaty kind, its ***).

I think I better don't comment too much on what people wear...karma..haha..

You muz be thinking, I keep saying this wear not nice, that wear not nice, so I am the perfect one with no sala, wrong, bad dressing day.

Common lah, I have lah, we are just human ok. I wore my hairband with a chanky earings, mind you, my hair band is with dark crystals not the simple one color kind lor. And I really look like a "siao za bor" with too much things on my head.

I wore a short dress, and that "showed off "how fat my legs are lor. I was rushing for work, and I can't find my tights. And in the end, I was pulling and pulling the dress down just to make it longer. Ok lah, its actually the ok length for every one, about 5 fingers above knee, but I have got fat and fair legs and I am going to work and not to some party...I just feel super foul mood for the whole day, and went straight home after dinner.

And also going out with my gaisha/opera makeup in T-shirt and shorts to neighbour shopping area. I am so used to makeup before going out. I only intend to apply a bit of conceler, loose powder, but its all so naturally to apply my full make up. Yah, but these happen only like less than 5 times when I am at home. And I dont apply make up while going down to my house market for food. And there are more..hahaha...

Yes, I complain on how bad people wear, and did nothing on how well people dresses. Please lah, its always the ugly things that we will remember. Pretty things, they won't leave any much impression, or rather, who will complain about pretty things??? *winks*

Was at fly on Sat, and I guess age is catching up on me and Dear, we are so not to clubbing now. OMG!!! OLD!!!! Its noisy and loud, we have to "shout" to each other, just to talk.

I did not drink, cos my stomach cannot take it, and I don't want to vomit like mad after that, all thanks to my gastric. Dear can't drink too as he has to drive. And I was all the way drinking green tea.

Thinking back, how can I stand the loud music while at Zouk years back?? The late nights clubbing almost every Sat. After not clubbing, was all the pubbing, and "heavy" drinking up to like 3 times a week ave.

And now at the age of 25+1 yrs old, I would rather stay in the malls, or chilling out at cafes, with only occasional drinking. (Which is like less than 10 times a year).

Met up with Jo, Gladys, Steph last friday, 14 Nov at JP. "As usual" Jac cant meet us cos she is busy with school, and "as usual" Steph was late (super late) due to work. haha.

Had over dinner, den to Mcd to slack. And Jo suggested taking photos while waiting for Steph to reach..haha, didnt take much, cos I was super tired. *faint*

Sat out shopping with Dar

Was in town shopping with Dar on Sat. We actually wanted to meet like 2.30pm at Tangs busstop, but but but, nuah here nuah there...we ended up 3plus den reach town. I decided to take a bus to Dar's house, meet her to go town together.

First stop - Heren to get our things, and also our late late lunch.

Conclusion - Every thing is so so except for Dar's ramen...

After lunch, we went for our long waited shopping. We went to get our small things before starting our serious shopping. We walked to Taka, Orchard is full of people, we nearly faint cos there were too many people walking the opposite direction towards Heren.

No nice tops, no nice dresses, no nice bottom from Zara, Topshop, Mango, Forever 21, GAP, Taka, Isetan, etc, etc....I am so so so so so so SAD!!!! But we bought a pair of nice wedge heels from M)phosis. Decided to rest for a while and we went to Far East KFC for ice tea, we continue with our shopping there.

Dar bought another pair of flats for Level 1, while I was "empty handed". Then headed upstairs to see see look look. Nothing initially, and suddenly, a dress caught my eyes. Tired it on with some others, in the end, bought the other dress, and a cropped jacket. Dar bought 2 tops and a necklace from the same shop. Haha, our CYN day 1 is taken care off. Happy!

Our last stop was Tangs, Dar wanted to get some cosmetics from Shu and Estee, and me shoes from Tangs studio. Nothing nice from Tangs Studio, was about to leave that place when a pair of shoes caught my eyes. The pair that I am eyeing, and cost $169 is going for 50%. Of coz I "grap" lah. Luckily there is my size, and its comfy.

But, while paying, the stupid promoter ends my day bad! I was q-ing up to pay, and its is suppose to be my turn to the next cashier, but he asked the person behind me to go to the next cashier. I showed him my not happy face, and told him that its is suppose to be my turn, and why she got to pay first. He told me, its the same, I said, its is lots faster at the other cashier. Then after paying, I was so super angry and I went to the customer service counter to lodge a complain to that promoter, Nicholes Chan. (Dar was the one who saw his name).

Well, my CYN Day 1 from head to toe, there is no need for me to vex lor, unless I change my mind to what to wear on the first day. Which is quite a high possibility, given that I love shopping so much. Its always like this, we will all keep buying and buying and buying, always thinking of nothing to wear, those at home, are not as nice as the one on hands while out shopping.

Hmmmm, I am thinking...I think, I think, I think...I am very tempted to wear BLACK on the first day of CYN...haha, see how lor. Well, my family has all gotten used to me wearing black on the first day. haha. I actually have like, 1 purple top, 1 blue top, 1 black top, 1 black dress brand new sitting at home. 1 pair of black capris, 1 pair of black jeans that I wore a few time, which I can wear it during CYN. haha, I still have 10 more dresses or tops to buy. I WANT TO WEAR NEW CLOTHES FOR THE 15 DAYS ON CYN!!!!!

Singapore Flyer - 02-11-2008

I always wanted to be on the Singapore Flyer, but to be frank, I HAVE A PHOBIA OF HEIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!! But the funny thing is that, I love being on the plane and loves the window seats. Haha..

Conclusion: I dont think I will go up again, unless its Free. Luckily, Dear got the tickets at corporate rate. I think we Singaporean has been looking at the the skyline of Singapore for years, to find it nice.

I always love the view on the Benjamin Sheares Bridge, especially the stretch from the CBD to the condos. But to look at it from the Flyer is totally different from driving pass them, I still like it while driving pass..haha..
